You have to pick any GM car from 2000-2004 that isn't a Corvette that you would drive daily.
Cadillac, Chevy, GMC, Buick, Olds, Saturn, Saab, or Pontiac. Pick ONE car you would drive.
I'll take my floaty V8 boat please.

You left off Hummer. H1 easy choice.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 22:46 |

Forgot about Hummer making anything before the H2. Actually, I pretty much forgot Hummer ever existed.

Well... I daily one of these. (Shh, its a 2005). But yeah, if I could choose it would be one of these. With the Camaro as a close second.

Holden Ute SS...

I never liked the front and rear end of the later Grand Prix's. The 90's Prix looked better IMO, but that's just me.

A Ute would be great. But import laws are stupid so no Ute.

Yikes, I really never had anything but absolute disgust for all of old mobiles late designs, this is included...although it looks 1million times shiner than any aurora you will ever see today.

I never noticed how much there was!

You didn't say it had to be US legal, just GM... :(
Can we call it a pre-production Pontiac Ute and let me drive it?

2002 Trans Am SLP Firehawk: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/slp-tr… The option was available through dealers.

I'll take this one for the team.

This is the one car I think Cadillac went backwards with after they got good again. From a RWD V8-power SUV to a FWD CUV built on the same platform as every other GM crossover.

I'll let it slip this one time.

MyCousin had one of these. In Trying to figure out how to brighten the dash my other Cousin called OnStar. TheyCalled back 30 min later askIng What Our emergency was. We would have Been long Dead. Now he drives a BoxSter S and mustang GT vert.

Enough said.
If it were 2005 however, I would have gone with the Mallett Solstice.

They were ugly, the end. A friend of mine bought one used that was from the first production year, and it just finally went to that weird-hole in the sky a month or so ago. They did what the needed to do, and they were pretty good for a family. When compared to some of the epically shitty cars from the GM lineup back then, it stacks up fairly well.

Me and my Ute love you then.

Sports car and large sedans are the only categories they aren't competing in.

I have a strange feeling those doors weigh about 2000 tons.

You can have a first gen sedan!
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:11 |
|
The whole car is actually about 300lbs lighter than your Seville.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:12 |
|
I really want one of these for some reason. I have a huge soft spot for early 2000s Cadillacs.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:14 |
|
Yeah, but the first gen's build quality is pretty mehhhh... not saying that the newer ones are fantastic but they are better than they used to be... I'll go with what some others have said and go with the GTO then, I'd rather have a sub-par interior in a Pontiac coupe then sub-par interior in a Caddy sedan.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:14 |
|
It's funny that both of those huge boats are 100 to 400 pounds lighter than my mom's Vue, Which weighs 4076 pounds.

DAT NORTHSTAR! MUCH V8, MANY TORQUES,
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:15 |

I was gonna say, ALL GM interiors were pretty meeehh back then.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:15 |

Glorious FWD burnouts!
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:31 |

GTO for me.
![]() 04/07/2014 at 23:54 |

My current daily driver right now is my 1999 Pontiac Trans Am WS6, So I would go with 2000 model, although it would have be red like mine.

GM never owned the H1. H1 was made by General Dynamics

Easy.
![]() 04/08/2014 at 00:00 |

the Rend es vuuuuuuuz might hade the worst interior I've ever seen, like 90 VW's are better quality.
![]() 04/08/2014 at 00:16 |

I JUST FOUND A MAJOR LOOPHOLE!!! You can get a WRX that's been rebadged as a Saab which was owned by GM!
![]() 04/08/2014 at 03:56 |

A legal Ute in the US? Well if you have 30K one can be yours!

Just too bad I think left hand utes has only actually made about 10 over the its lifetime.
![]() 04/08/2014 at 08:20 |
|
Well they are only a few years old and I wouldn't think the demand is that high.
But it's nice having the option if one was wanted bad enough.
![]() 04/08/2014 at 09:27 |
|
I guess it all depends on how you define "own." You're right though, the H1 was made by GD. The question asked what GM car though, and since the H1 was exclusively sold to the public (and serviced) through GM dealers I'd argue that it counts. I was trying to think of a similar arrangement in the Auto industry but am drawing a blank. The closest I got was a different manufacturer re-badging another manufacturer's car as their own. For example GM rebadged the Subaru Impreza as the Saab 92-x. This isn't a really good example though since there were two versions of the car being sold to the public instead of one.
![]() 04/08/2014 at 18:29 |

At the time of the 92X GM owned 20% of Subaru.
P.S. you just caught me after work and now i'm pissed off and feel like arguing.

Interesting. Didn't know that tidbit of GM history. Man did they waste some money on some dumb shit.
